Get a Closer Look at the New MS Outlook for Android and iOS
Microsoft has recently launched the last version of MS Office for Android. But the company didn’t stop there. Immediately after such release, they launched Outlook for iOS and Android. This is actually just the rebranded version of Accomply, an email app that Microsoft acquired a couple of months back. This is good news for iPhone users as they won’t have to jailbreak iOS 8 on iPhone 5 to be able to use this useful app.
Great Features of Mobile Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft proudly claims that its mobile Outlook app offers features that cannot be found in any other email apps. One of its great features is the ‘snooze’ option, which is called Schedule. Through Schedule, you can temporarily get rid of a message from your inbox, which may still resurface at a later time.
Schedule can be activated directly from within your inbox view. All you have to do is swipe an email to the right. Then you will see the Schedule selector that has four options – ‘in a few hours, ‘ this evening’, ‘tomorrow morning’, and ‘choose a time’.
By swiping an email to the left will prompt another option, which is Archive. This is the default setting, but you may customize the swipe settings. You can include options like Flag, Delete, and Mark Unread.
The mobile Outlook app also automatically sorts your mail into two categories – Focused and Other. This functions much like Google’s Priority Box, and will contain all your important messages.
Some of the other functions and features of the Outlook app for Android and iOS include the ability to add attachments from such cloud accounts as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and others.
Other Apps for Android and iPhone
The Microsoft Outlook mobile app is an excellent one in that it can be used for both Android and iOS. This is a huge advantage for Microsoft because it is fairly easy to get. This makes the Outlook app unique also in that many other mobile apps are not that easy to download on an iPhone.
If you wish to get a third party app and have it on your iOS, you will have to jailbreak your phone first. Jailbreaking an iPhone is the process in which all the restrictions set by Apple are removed, which gives you freedom to get whatever app you want.
The good news is that there are tools online that you can use to easily jailbreak your iPhone. Jailbreak Unlock is the most reliable software out there to jailbreak iOS 8 on iPhone 5, for instance. You don’t have to worry about your phone having issues caused by the jailbreaking. Also, you only need to pay once and you can jailbreak as many devices as you want!
