Important Steps for Keeping Your iPhone Secured

While it is true that Apple does its best to give its users the best mobile device experience and security features, there are still many issues with your iOS devices that you need to take care of on your own. There are very important steps you need to take to make sure your device does not run the risk of getting hacked. In fact, if it means you have to jailbreak iPod 5 iOS 8.1 or your iPhone, you will have to consider doing so.

Below are some tips you can use to make sure your iPhone is safe and secure:

  1. Enable Passcode Lock

iPhones come with the Auto Lock feature, which automatically locks the screen after a specified time that your iPhone is not in use. The Passcode Lock, on the other hand, is an enhanced way of securing your iPhone. Once you have enabled it, a four-digit code will have to be entered to be able to access the home screen of the phone. This is a much stronger way of preventing unauthorized access to your iPhone.

  1. Be careful in connecting to Wi-Fi

iPhone users must be very satisfied with the WiFi support of their devices as it can connect to any WiFi anywhere and anytime. This could post some risks, too, however. Thus, you have to make sure that the WiFi network you’re connecting to is secure enough and is using WiFi Protected Access or WPA. There are several other security protocols that you can do when connecting to WiFi networks.

  1. Utilize SSL when accessing emails

iPhone has a mail app that allows for easy access to emails. When using this app, be sure to access your emails via SSL. This will make sure that all emails you send and receive are encrypted. This is actually turned on by default, but to make sure, just go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > choose an account > Advanced. Then just scroll down to the ‘Use SSL’ option and check if it is turned ON.

  1. Modify the default password of your iPhone after jailbreaking it

If you have jailbroken your iPhone, this tip is for you. The default root password for your iPhone is ‘alpine’. It is crucial that you change this password if you want to boost the security of your device.

So how do you jailbreak an iPhone 4 with iOS 7? This would be the question in your mind if you want to install other security apps for your iPhone that are not available in the App Store. There are several jailbreaking tools online you can choose from, but one of the most reliable ones is Jailbreak Unlock. This tool can jailbreak any iPhone versions without rendering the phones’ warranty void.
